The “Sunnycrest” App: Quick Start Guide for Staff

Your school's mobile app provides students & parents with a single place to find everything to do with the school, their classes, and their extra-curricular activities! It's the digital replacement for the paper student planner. And it lets you easily communicate with each student and parent via their preferences and technology (app push notification, text message, and/or email).

Get the App!

Visit http://sunnycrest.appazur.com

On an iPhone/iPad/iPod/Android/Chromebook, tap the link to install the app.

If you don't have a mobile device, click the "Web App" button to use it on your computer.

(Don't Sign Up as a parent/student. See (2) below.)

As a user, you can use the app to...

> Follow what is happening at the school.
> Enter assignments and get reminders.
NOTE: Your entries CANNOT be seen by students & parents.

As an instructor, you can use the App Dashboard to...

> Communicate information to students and parents.
> Provide links, documents, and a calendar for your classes.

Use the App Dashboard

From a web browser (Chrome/Edge/Safari), go to the App Dashboard at https://sunnycrest.appazur.com/dashboard (Bookmark it!).

  • You use the same account for the Dashboard & App.
  • On the Sign In screen, choose the School District Account option, and sign in with your usual credentials on the next screen.
  • If you are signed in to the app with a recognized staff account, a Dashboard menu item will appear.

OR

  • Sign in to the app with your staff account.
  • Open the sidebar.
  • Scroll down and select Dashboard.
  • Follow the steps to the left.

Integration with your existing website

Link to all your online content
  1. Sign In to the App Dashboard.
  2. Click Classes/Groups, then open your class.
  3. Scroll down to Links and add your websites.
  • Students and parents will now be able to reach these sites without leaving the app.
  • Be sure to include the "http://" part of the URL.
  • The classes page is also where you change contact & class related info, or upload documents/images to share w/ students.

Integration with social media

Sync with your existing posts and events. You don't have to do anything new!

You can integrate with the following and more:

  • Email List
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Blog
  • Sharepoint
  • Google/Apple Calendar

Connect your emails and posts using the News Sources section of your class/group configuration.

Sending Messages

The system will deliver messages to each recipient according to their preferences! You won't need to maintain email or phone number lists, as users will subscribe to your class and enter their own contact information and preferences.

In the App Dashboard, click Add next to Messages.

Enter your message.

Pick the class/group that you want to receive the message.

Click Save to send the message.

Assignments

Students can use the Assignments screen to keep track of their own work.

You can send out a message with assignment details or a link to the assignment.

You can add a calendar for your class, and enter assignments as an event on each due date.
