Chromebox & Chromebit Devices

Appazur recommends ChromeOS devices for Digital Signage. We also support customer-managed Windows devices, but ChromeOS devices boot much faster, require less maintenance, and cost less.

Appazur-ready ChromeOS devices can be prepurchased from major computer hardware suppliers that your school may already use, including:

ASUS Chromebit

  • Easy-to-manage, cost-effective.
  • Bundled extension cable or bendable Flex Connect HDMI connector for easy connections to hard-to-reach HDMI ports.
  • Runs the latest Chrome OS, and features automatic updates and anti-virus software for a smart and secure digital environment.
  • Dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, or connect a USB Ethernet adapter.

AOPEN Chromebox

This is a highly reliable device intended for 24/7 digital signage applications under tough conditions (up to 60ºC). It has a tamperproof design and comes with L-shaped mount. Fanless, with AC Power Auto Recovery.

AOpen has long been a leader in digital signage. They’re a Taiwanese manufacturer of both displays and media players used in the segment. While consumer television manufacturers are now dabbling in the digital signage space, AOpen is focused on durable products with commercial grade components and ready for 24-hour, seven-day usage.

AOPEN Chromebox specifications:

Hard drive: 32 GB
Processor: Intel N2930, 1.83 GHz turbo to 2.16 GHz Quad Core
Memory: 4 GB
Display: HDMI, Display Port, 4x USB 2.0, SD Card
Network: Ethernet and built-in dual-band Wi-Fi; dual wireless antennas

Chrome Management

ChromeOS Devices work with the Chrome Management Console, but to make things easy, we have integrated Chrome Management functions right into your App Dashboard!

Chrome Management is very inexpensive with a non-profit education ChromeOS license, or a commercial Single App Kiosk license (which does not include device use as a workstation).
