Skyward

You can sync Appazur™ to Skyward™:

You can configure data to be transferred automatically (typically nightly), or manually upload CSV files to your Appazur Dashboard.

For each export type, choose the Export Template you used last year, or click Add if this is the first time.

SFTP

You will need to configure SFTP in Skyward:

To see the results of your SFTP data transfers, follow the instructions for Manual Import (below) but do not click Add. You'll see the list of all the recent imports.

Manual Import

A manual import is useful to test an initial CSV export, before setting up SFTP, or if your data doesn't change very often and you don't want to set up SFTP.

  1. From the Appazur Dashboard Home page, go to the page for the data you want to import, such as Classes/Groups or App Users.
  2. Click the Import button (in the upper right corner).
  3. Next click Add Import Data, choose your CSV file, then click Save to start a dry-run of your import.
  4. When the dry-run import completes, review any WARNINGs in the report, and if there are no ERRORs or obvious concerns, click Import.

If you get an ERROR, you cannot proceed. Review the error message, and double check your Skyward export, especially your choices on the "Export Records" screen.

Typically there will be some minor WARNINGs, which do not prevent you from proceeding, such as:

You can do this procedure any time, as often as you like, to keep the system up to date so that the correct families receive notifications. (If there are no changes then there will be no effect on Appazur.)

Sync Student Contacts

Your student contact data is required for the optional Mass Notification capability.

Your CSV file must contain the following fields:

In addition, include your parent/guardian name, email, and phone fields, e.g.:

Classes

You can import the list of all classes for the current year from your Student Information System (SIS). Appazur Support can customize how classes are listed, to ensure that a student or parent can find the correct section of a course to subscribe to. For example, we can configure your app to append the period, section, and/or teacher's name to the course name provided by your SIS.

Your CSV file should contain the following fields:

Class Roster

If you wish to upload your class roster to Appazur so that families are subscribed to all of their classes automatically then follow this procedure. (This will add all the classes to Appazur, and also subscribe the families to the classes.)

The roster can also include Bus Routes, Sports Teams, and any other group you'd like to subscribe students and parents to. You just need to make sure that you enter the class code in the Dashboard to match the code in this CSV file.

Your CSV file should contain the following fields:
